HAMILTON – A two-week stadium tour, with stops in New York City and Baltimore, along with another rugged run through the Patriot League highlights Colgate’s 2013 men’s lacrosse schedule.

The Raiders, ranked by as the No. 11 team in the Face-Off Yearbook preseason poll, meet four top-20 teams from that listing in second-ranked Maryland, No. 7 Cornell, No. 8 Lehigh and 18th-ranked Bucknell. Only the Bucknell contest takes place in Hamilton.

Two additional headline trips send Colgate to face upstart Michigan in the Metropolitan Lacrosse Classic at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets; and tangle with league rival Navy in the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens.

Both classic games are part of doubleheaders and will be televised nationally.

Five regular season games already are slated for the TV airwaves. The CBS Sports Network is carrying Colgate’s games against Army (March 31), Lehigh (April 6) and Bucknell (April 20), while ESPNU is taking both the Michigan and Navy classics. In addition, all three games of the Patriot League Championship are being televised by the CBS Sports Network.

The regular season begins Feb. 9 at Bryant and plays into the Patriot League tournament, set for April 26-28 at the site of the regular season winner. Colgate then makes a May 4 trek to Maryland to prepare for possible NCAA tournament action, which begins the following weekend.

Colgate’s home and Patriot League opener is March 9 against Holy Cross. The Raiders also play a pair of Tuesday games against regional rivals Hobart (March 5) and Binghamton (March 12).

Colgate finished 14-4 last season and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA championship. The final Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll of the 2012 season had Colgate at No. 8.

The Raiders return All-Patriot League first-team performers Peter Baum and Rob Grabher, and second-teamers Ryan Walsh and Bobby Lawrence. Inside Lacrosse magazine already has tabbed Baum to its 2013 Preseason All-America first team, while naming Walsh to the third team. The magazine also selected Matt Baker, Baum and Grabher for its coaches’ preseason all-conference squad.
