Marist Men's Lacrosse 1/13/2016 Practice

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men’s lacrosse team began its defense of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title, holding its first official practice in preparation for the 2016 regular season Jan. 13.

The Red Foxes were on Leonidoff Field at Tenney Stadium for the first time since they defeated Bryant, 10-6, in an NCAA Tournament preliminary round game May 6 in front of a record crowd of 1,873 fans.

The Red Foxes had physicals Jan. 12 before taking the field for two hours the following day. The squad split up into offense and defense for some drills and ran game situations that pitted red against white.

Marist will hold two-a-days through Sunday, with team meetings scheduled in the afternoon between practices and later in the evening. The Red Foxes’ preseason scrimmages are scheduled for Feb. 6 at Cornell and Feb. 13 against Dartmouth in Tenney Stadium. The red and white will host Air Force in the 2016 regular season opener at 12 p.m. Feb. 20.
