STX Hosts Free High School Coaches Clinic with JHU and Ohio State Coaches on January 26

0 Comments 16 January 2013

Baltimore, MD – Baltimore-based STX, LLC, a global sporting goods leader, and Johns Hopkins Lacrosse announced today a free high school coaches’ clinic to be held January 26, 2013.

The free clinic, held at the newly constructed Cordish Lacrosse Center at Homewood Field in Baltimore, Md., is limited to just 50 high school coaches. Registration is first come, first serve and due to limited seating each program should send just one representative.

STX and Johns Hopkins Lacrosse will open the clinic with presentations from Ohio State University Head Lacrosse Coach Nick Myers and Johns Hopkins University Head Lacrosse Coach David Pietramala. The event will close with a scrimmage between JHU and OSU Men’s Lacrosse teams at 1:30 pm.

Pietramala, a former Blue Jay defenseman, understands the history and tradition of the Johns Hopkins lacrosse program perhaps better than anyone. He has guided the Blue Jays to the NCAA Tournament in each of his 12 seasons with six trips to the Final Four and four NCAA Championship game appearances. Under his direction, the Blue Jays won the NCAA Championship in 2005 and 2007.

Myers is in his fifth season as head coach for the Ohio State men’s lacrosse team. He took over the program in 2008 after three seasons as the top assistant for the Buckeyes. Myers led Ohio State to back-to-back ECAC tournament appearances and under his direction the squad has set records for academic honors and community services hours.

The schedule for the Coaches Clinic is as follows:
