William & Mary lacrosse head coach Hillary Fratzke has announced the Tribe’s schedule for the upcoming 2016 season.

The challenging slate features 16 regular-season contests, eight of which will be played at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.

Highlighting the schedule are four games against teams that competed in the 2015 NCAA Tournament, including the back-to-back defending national champion, Maryland.

In addition to opening the 2016 campaign at Maryland (Feb. 14), early-season road games at Gardner-Webb (Feb. 17) and Virginia (March 2) await the Tribe. W&M’s lone home contest during its first four matchups will come against Oregon on Feb. 28.

Following the tough season-opening stretch, the Tribe will host four consecutive home games against non-conference foes – Winthrop (March 6), Old Dominion (March 10), Connecticut (March 16) and Virginia Tech (March 19).

The College will wrap up its non-conference slate with consecutive road games at in-state foes Richmond (March 23) and Liberty (March 26).

W&M’s Colonial Athletic Association schedule features home games against Hofstra (April 8), Drexel (April 10) and Elon (April 30), while it will travel to James Madison (April 2), Towson (April 22) and Delaware (April 24).

Drexel will host the CAA Championship this season, as the league’s top four teams will compete for the conference title on May 5 and 8 at Vidas Field.
