Olivia Jenner, Duke Women's Lacrosse

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women’s lacrosse head coach Kerstin Kimel and the Blue Devil staff welcomed the addition of 12 freshmen to the program this fall ahead of the 2016 campaign. Midfielder Olivia Jenner comes to Duke from Annapolis, Md.

Prior to Duke: A US Lacrosse and Under Armour All-American, Jenner came to Durham from McDonogh, the top-ranked high school program in the country. She served as the team captain there, leading the squad in draw controls (98) and goals (54) as a senior. Jenner garnered all-metro and all-conference recognition as both a junior and senior, and concluded her prep career by being selected to the North vs. South All-Star Game as one of the top 44 players in the country.

What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
OJ: Having to come back from a four goal deficit to win the 2015 IAAM Championship.

When did you start playing lacrosse?
OJ: I started playing lacrosse when I was five. I fell in love with the fast tempo and competitiveness of the sport.

Who has had the biggest impact on your life?
OJ: My family – my parents, younger brother and sister are my biggest supporters.

Why did you choose Duke?
OJ: Duke has always been a special place to me. In addition to the outstanding athletics I knew I could have a great college student experience due to the academic opportunities.

What are your goals for your collegiate career?
OJ: To contribute as much as I can to the team’s success and to win a national championship.

If you were to play another sport, what would it be? Soccer
Interesting fact about yourself: In the summer of 2014, I summited Mount Kilimanjaro.
What do you plan to major in? Public Policy
Best advice you’ve received: It doesn’t take talent to hustle.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself living in a major city and hopefully having a successful career doing something I love.
