Kennesaw Women’s LAX: Owls Begin Practice for 2016 Season

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women’s lacrosse team officially began preparations for the 2016 season on Friday, January 15.
The team is entering its fourth year as a program and is coming off of its best season to date.“The team and staff are excited to begin spring practice,” head coach Kristina Llanes said. “The team has put in the work necessary over break to pick up where we left off. This pre-season we will focus on refining concepts that we put in in the fall and continue to place emphasis on fundamentally sound lacrosse. We will continue to work on our transition game as we know this will pay dividends when we reach the conference schedule.”

The team returns 17 players including All-Atlantic Sun Second Team members Sydney Farwick, Taylor McGhee and Laura Jordan. There are nine newcomers on the roster.

The team begins the season on Sunday, February 7 at home at Fifth Third Bank Stadium against the Vanderbilt Commodores at 1 p.m.


Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium, the signature athletics landmark on the Kennesaw State University campus, is a world-class facility that has been recognized as one of the premier multi-use outdoor athletics venues in the country. In the fall of 2015, it become the official home of Owls football team and is home to Owls soccer and lacrosse as well.

Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium is the home of women’s soccer, women’s lacrosse and football, which will play its inaugural season in 2015.
